DUAL EDUCATION – STUDY AND WORK

 "Opportunities for cooperation between vocational schools of Ukraine and enterprises based on the German model of dual education" was the panel discussion topic held on October 16, 2018, in Kyiv. This event, which was initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine together with the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, was also attended by representatives of JV Spheros-Electron LLC, in particular, Deputy General Director for Quality, Ph.D. in Economics – Natalia Shulyar. In her report, she said Spheros-Electron has examples of successful implementation of dual education at its enterprise.

    

Within the framework of the project "Partnership in the field of vocational education in Ukraine 2016-2018," students of two vocational schools in Lviv—No. 20 and No. 57—practiced at Spheros-Electron. They chose the scarce and most sought-after profession of electric and gas welder.

The variant mentioned above of such cooperation (enterprise + vocational school) aroused great interest in the further exchange of experience at the national level. Having approved the concept of dual education at the level of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Government understands that the format of such training is a real chance to solve not only the problem of technical modernization of student workshops (after all, Spheros-Electron pays 50% for the school and another 50% for the student) but also an opportunity to educate enterprises with qualified future employees.
